Clinical Psychospiritual Education (CPE)

Program Dates & Application Deadlines

The Centre for Education & Advancement of Spiritual Care offers a unique CPE program for the development of practitioners who will provide spiritual care in a non-hospital environment. The program uses a hybrid model, meaning it is conducted virtually and in person. The first week is in person with all other teaching being done virtually, allowing students to complete their supervised practice within their community, in a field placement setting that is appropriate for their professional development.

Inaugural CPE Class. August, 2025

Six students joined us for the inaugural session for CPE training this August. Following a full week on campus each one of us is primed and ready to continue on their learning journey of greater self-awareness and transformation. Congratulations.

CPE is a challenging, unique, and transformative adult learning process that invites students to experience greater self-awareness and transformation.

CPE units offered through The Centre for Education & Advancement of Spiritual Care will follow the experiential action-reflection-action model of psychospiritual care that has become internationally recognized for combining intense individual and group supervision with practical placement for spiritual care experience in the student’s chosen ministry field. The program will be delivered in an extended format twice yearly, with each unit spanning 26-weeks.

All admitted CPE students are required to attend a one-week, on-campus intensive session. This first week cannot be attended virtually and your presence in the classroom is mandatory. Completing any CPE unit also requires the successful completion of clinical hours in a field placement site. This is an 8-hour weekly requirement that is in addition to your day in the online class each week.

The Centre for Education & Advancement of Spiritual Care welcomes inquiries and applications from anyone interested in CPE for personal, pastoral, and/or professional growth. The CPE program is open to all, irrespective of race, gender, belief, age, or physical ability.
